Himel as a leading manufacturer and supplier of reliable power distribution products is known for its flagship product, the Miniature Circuit Breaker. Himel MCB has been awarded the Brand Choice Award for Home and Living Category in Indonesia — a testimony to our manufacturing and testing excellence to meet international and regional quality standards. In this blog, we will explore our widely known and award-winning products Himel range of MCBs.

MCB is an evolution of the conventional fuse to an electromagnetic switch that breaks an electrical circuit when excessive current passes through it. The MCBs protect from short circuit faults and thus ensures safety. As the interface of MCB is user-friendly, the power supply can be restored with a mere push to the ON position.

Without going into the detailed anatomy of this electrical safety gear, we will touch on the functionality of MCB. Primarily it is housed in a protective case which isolates the live electrical parts from the other components. The live electrical parts include the terminals, main contacts and the trip unit which is the most important component of this switchgear. When the electrical circuit is charged and healthy, load current flows through the terminals to the main contacts. The trip unit of an MCB gauges the actual current flowing and shuts up in case of over–current or short-circuit faults, thus preventing damage to the appliances connected.

Himel Range of MCBs

Himel offers a wide range of specifications and categories of MCBs. With both AC and DC variants of this switchgear, there are altogether seven types of Miniature Circuit Breaker from Himel.

HDB3w

These are 18mm width AC MCBs with current rating extending up to 63 Amp and are available in single pole to four pole variants. The smart design with independent accessory installation and the platform upgrade stretches the breaking capacity of the MCB up to 6kA. This cost efficient final distribution product is a must have for all the low voltage circuits that we come across.

HDB3w-125

As the name suggests, HDB3w-125, are 27mm width AC MCBs for the larger value of current rating up till 125 Amp. These power distribution products find utility in wider applications, with its breaking capacity extending up to 10kA.

HDB3wH

In the quest to make circuit protection devices affordable, we have been constantly developing and upgrading our products. The HDB3wH range of MCBs comes with better performance and is more affordable. These new generation MCBs come with indicators and are RoHS approved, being environment friendly.

HDB9Z

The HDB9Z segment from Himel are high-performance DC type MCBs with immense utility in applications such as high-level solar energy areas. These come with a high breaking capacity up to 10kA and can operate in adverse temperatures ranging from -30 degree C to +70 degree C.

HDBK

Himel also offers one of its kind, plug-in type miniature circuit breakers for the protection of electrical circuits against short circuits and overload faults. HDBK comes with a three-pole variant, 1P, 2P & 3P in the C curve, useful for inductive loads and has a breaking capacity of 10kA. These do not need wires or terminals but can be plugged and is ready to use.

HDB3wZ

Himel HDB3wZ are economic DC-type miniature circuit breakers useful for the DC electrical panels, renewable energy circuits or solar energy areas. Its breaking capacity is 6kA and operates at temperature range of -20 degree Celsius to 60 degree Celsius

HDB9

With even faster breaking technique, Himel HDB9 MCBs are manufactured on high technical platform, offering electrical durability up to 10000 times. Moreover, the HDB9 segments comply with the highest three-energy limiting capacity requirements in the EN 60898 standard.

Features and Certifications of Himel MCB

Himel MCBs are available in a wide range of specifications catering to diverse applications. The new generation platform and the continuous strive to keep evolving ensures better performance at a competitive cost. The manufacturing facility at Himel is capable of producing 2 million poles a day which are rigorously tested in accredited facilities. Himel MCBs comply to all major international certifications, details of which are mentioned below.

KEMA Certifications

Keuring Van Elektrotechnische Materialen or KEMA is a power test certification authority for electricity globally. These essentially provide quality labels associated with the certificate for the electrical goods.

CB Certifications

A certification body or CB is a globally accepted certifier with market coverage in over 50 countries to approve the certificates and product safety test reports for electrical equipment and devices. These certificates are provided post-test that aggregate international standards.

CE Certifications

Conformite Europeenne certification confirms that the electrical and electronic goods, equipment or as a matter of fact, any goods comply to the European health, safety, and environmental protection standards

RoHS

Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive ensures to reduce the ill effects on the environment by restricting the use of hazardous substances. Himel products completely comply to RoHS and under no circumstances exceed the allowable amount of restricted materials such as lead, mercury, cadmium, PBB, DEHP, PBDE and other such elements.
