Many heavy metals are often difficult to recycle because of cost and labour-intensive tracing. Hence they continue to stay in their disposal site, for centuries. Indiscriminate disposal leads to leeching of these metals in water bodies and ultimately ends up in plants and animals.
To restrict the use of such hazardous substances in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment, European laws introduced directives and implemented it in the year 2004 which is known as RoHS or Restriction of Hazardous Substances. These prohibit the use of ten hazardous substances in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment which includes lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), and the different phthalates – (DEHP, BBP, DBP, and DIBP).
The restrictions are significant since these substances are not only dangerous to human lives with direct or indirect contact during handling, but the hazardous substances also pollute the environment, they contaminate the air we breathe, pollute landfills and even the potable drinking water.

HDB3w, 3 Series Miniature Circuit Breakers

HDG3, 3 Series Switch Disconnectors

HDB3VR, 3 Series RCCBs
